I wrote this poem to celebrate the indescribable joy and enthusiasm that some people feel during the Christmas season.
It portrays the experiences and mindset of a “Christmasite”—someone who wholeheartedly embraces the spirit of Christmas.
Christmasites
A true Christmasite enjoys spending their nights.
Driving around in a car, spotting twinkling lights.
When outdoors is covered in wintry whites.
Nostalgic joy is found in playful snow fights.
They enjoy Christmas indulgence and festive delights.
And lighting a candle on Christmas movie nights.
‘Twas the night, we recite, as the perfect goodnight.
Crazy about Christmas is a true Christmasite.
Christmas Eve anticipation, try as we might.
We’re still wide awake as the clock strikes midnight.
Obsessed by the night that Santa takes flight.
Christmas Day must be perfect, merry, and bright!
We count down the hours, excitement ignites.
Have I basted the turkey? Sent out the invites?
Now, some folks may say that our heads aren’t quite right.
But one question remains: are you a Christmasite?
What is a Christmasite?
The term ‘Christmasite’ refers to any person who is obsessed with Christmas. They celebrate all year round and are always talking about Christmas to anyone who will listen.
A Christmasite lives, eats and breathes Christmas.
