The winning joke of the U&Gold Channels annual “funniest Christmas cracker Joke” based on events of 2024 has been revealed and has a political connotation. 

Other entries include nods to a plethora of 2024 scandals and viral moments, including Baby Reindeer, Oasis concert ticket sales, and the newest Ozempic fad.

The competition, now in its twelfth year, challenges the British public to tweet original festive jokes in a bid to win a top prize worth over ยฃ1500.

Entries were shortlisted by a panel of judges and put to a public vote consisting of 2,000 British adults to reveal the winning jokes.

Lead judge, Comedy critic Bruce Dessau, Said:

“Another brilliant list of festive funnies from the public – a true testament to British wit! After an eventful 2024, I’m glad to see the nation’s humour bringing a bit of light to some of the year’s headlines! Big congratulations to all the winners, and well done to everyone who entered and put a smile on our faces for a twelfth year.”

Carlsen Stanton from Birmingham, received the top prize of ยฃ1,500 towards a holiday, a festive hamper and a box of bespoke U&Gold Christmas Crackers for his Keir Starmer joke.
