Here’s a full list of dates of when every Major London Christmas Lights displays are being switched on this year in all major towns and boroughs.
Camden Market
The Camden Market Christmas lights switch-on is scheduled for Monday, November 3, 2025.
This event will be one of the first major Christmas lights display to be lit up in London for the 2025 christmas season.
Switch On Date: Monday, 3rd November 2025.
Oxford Street
Get ready for the festive season to officially begin! Oxford Street will be the first major London display to light up for Christmas 2025.
The renowned display will once again feature 5,000 glittering stars using 300,000 energy-efficient LED bulbs. This spectacular street-long show is a beacon of generosity, supporting the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity and their work with seriously ill children.
Switch On Date: Monday, 3rd November 2025.
Regent Street and St James’s
Regent Street, Piccadilly, Jermyn Street, St James’s Market, and the surrounding area will once again shine with the district’s signature “Spirits of Christmas” display.
Thirty illuminated angels will soar above the streets, while a Wishing Tree at St James’s Market will invite visitors to donate in support of The Felix Project, a charity dedicated to tackling food poverty.
Switch On Date: Thursday, 6th November 2025.
Carnaby Street
The revolutionary light display in Carnaby, which debuted in 2024, is back! Titled ‘All is Bright,’ the installation promises to be a powerful visual statement.
It aims to harness the joy and optimism of the Christmas season while celebrating the creative, lively spirit that defines Soho.
Switch On Date: Thursday, 6th November 2025.
Spitalfields Market
The Old Spitalfields Market Christmas light switch-on is scheduled for Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM, with the lights turning on at 6:00 PM.
The event is part of the market’s kick-off to the festive season, featuring live music from a Gospel choir, mulled wine, mince pies, and broadcasts from Hoxton Radio.
Switch On Date: Wednesday, 12th November 2025.
Covent Garden
Covent Garden was one of the first areas (alongside Carnaby) to announce its festive plans back in September.
This year, an incredible 300,000 lights will illuminate the Piazza, Seven Dials, Neal’s Yard, and the surrounding streets.
To complete the festive experience, the popular Christmas-themed cocktail bar, Miracle at Henrietta, will also return for 2025.
Switch On Date: Wednesday, 12th November 2025.
Marylebone Village
For the 2025 Christmas light switch-on, Marylebone Village is going all out. The high street will be fully pedestrianised for the day, allowing for a fantastic street party!
The celebration includes a main stage on Devonshire Street with live music and local choirs, all while supporting The Marylebone Project for homeless women.
Switch On Date: Wednesday, 12th November 2025.
Leadenhall Market
The stunning, covered arcade of Leadenhall Market lights up for Christmas and also hosts some great festive shopping events.
The SoLo Craft Fair Christmas Market starts on November 16th & December 7th, and the Vintage Furniture and Flea Christmas Market starts on November 24th.
Switch On Date: Thursday, 13th November 2025.
Christmas at Kew
A historic first awaits at Christmas at Kew Gardens this Christmas! Alongside a refreshed route featuring eight new installations, the iconic Great Pagoda will join the festivities for the very first time.
The 18th-century Chinese-inspired masterpiece is getting a dazzling Christmassy makeover, promising a truly unforgettable winter walk.
Switch On Date: Friday, 14th November 2025.
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is lighting up even brighter! New for 2025, step into Luminarie Lane, a brand-new marketplace feature.
While Winter Wonderland is packed with festive cheer, this dedicated spot promises to be a visual spectacle, complete with its very own dazzling light installation.
Switch On Date: Friday, 14th November 2025.
Winter Lights Festival at Canary Wharf
The Canary Wharf Winter Lights Festival is a free, family-friendly outdoor exhibition that transforms London’s financial district into a glowing gallery of lights every January.
The installations typically run from 5 PM to 10 PM daily during the festival.
Switch On Date: Tuesday, 20th January 2026.
